Rubella @ The Dublin Castle

It's nice when a band I know play a New Year's Eve gig. In this case Rubella as a two-piece play 4 new songs, and they sound good. It's difficut to decide whether they need a bass. They are thinking about it I believe. An excellent end to 2009, followed by our first trip of 2010 to the Brick lane bagel shop.

Rubella @ Liquid Nation

Rubella play a gig as a two-piece, due to no longer having a bass player. It's difficult to say how much they miss a bass. Overall a very good performance in the dark of Liquid Nation. Even the Christmas tree lights seem to be blacked out. It's a strange venue. Headliners, Televised Crimewave also do a strong show, but I think they would have been more impressive if you could make out more than a sillouette against a passing  No. 7 bus. Rubella are next in action at New Years Eve at the Dublin Castle.
