Team B @ the Macbeth

It was 2005 when we last saw Team B. They don't often venture north of the river, and we rarely venture south.

A great gig which followed a very relaxed evening meal in "Abi Ruchi" the South Indian amazing restaurant in Stoke Newington. 0207 923 4564

The service in that restaurant is just so friendly and warm, and the food is amazing....Try the paratha! I have never eaten such good one in my life. (they are usually best avoided as they are deep fried and greasy)

We didnt rush to teh venue as when we previously went tehre to ask what time the band were playing, they first answered with "huuuuuh?" then "Who's zat?? Which band? " and eventually "Ah yeah, they have not arrived yet, or they are just setting up" and we eventually managed to get out of them (after much insisting we needed to know the times) that they might be playing between 9.30 and 11.30, but possibly around 10pm.

Anyway we got there and they were setting up, their drummer wasn't there, in fact he never made the gig as he was stuck in traffic in East ham or Bow or somewhere... They started the set, did their amazing Mister Mamadou song, which got the crowd going, then one of them seked in the audience if there was a spare couple of drummers about so this long haired bloke who had starred at me at the toilet with his girlfriend as I had jumped the queue at the lady(not knowing there was only 1 flooded cubicle in the whole venue for girls and most girls take ageees)

So he got up on stage and then another guy followed him and they shared the drumset, doing something rather good, it was all very entertaining but Team B stopped after about 4 songs (they must have thought the drummers weren't as good as their own) the keyboard fell over a few times, and they also fell over a bit, but it was an amazing gig and it was so good to see them again...

It was different since this time they didn't cross dress not rolled on the floor whilst playing guitar and making noises. Maybe that;s their special Klinker act.

Hopefully they will cross the river again! They are amazing!

Draw In @ the Klinker (featuring Team B)

This night at the Klinker was going to be special... It was one of Hugh Metcalfe's drawing evenings, and we went there with a mad artist, friend of ours.
We didn't quite knew what to expect, and as we entered the venue, we learned that the amazing Hugh was not present that evening, due to familly problems. The audience was small, and it was a very cosy atmosphere. Our regulars, Stewarttttt, Dylan and Matt , all in bands, were there, ready to charcoal away whilst listening to Team B, a very interesting rock band>
The band started interestingly; the singer,a male, was wearing a pretty dotted dress, and the piano player, guitar player was wearing a posh suit and swimming goggles with a light flashing on his forehead. What took me most is when after a couple of songs, the guitarist had a fit and was rolling on the floor like if he'd just been bitten by a venemous adder. It was horrendously funny... Not sure if it was meant to be... Fantastic. I couldn't even draw it was so hilarious. They followed their sets with "normal" songs, which were very well played and really quite normal really.
The drawing was interesting, we were given some sliced white bread to eat, as well as a piece of charcoal, or was the bread to make sandwiches with jellied eels sold by the local fish canvasser. who goes round pubs selling prawns and mussels and jellied eels. But in fact I did learn eventually that the bread wasn't for eating but for using as a rubber. And it worked! Great artwork done that evening, great company, but we missed Hugh...Hugh, only Hugh...Hugh the Sweet Bastard.
