Not @ Camden Crawl
Today I picked up copies of the Rubella poster, less than 3 weeks since we did the photo. It is a massive A1 size and looks brilliant. I think it is the biggest I have ever had a photo enlarged. I'm really pleased with it.
Tonight is Camden Crawl. I know lots of bands who are playing, but I am not paying £75 to see half a dozen bands that I saw last week and shall see next week for around £5 or less. I'm certainly not interested in spending the weekend queueing up with people who think this sort of cattle market is an exciting and worthwhile event. Presumably those people who do pay the extortionate ticket price are subsidising the hoards of industry types who get in free. The people who can't be bothered to actually go and see the fine bands who are playing every night of the week across London. The whole thing should cost about £10 per night and there should be no 'big names' current or ancient. Then normal gig goers could discover some of the real talent out there, rather than staying at home like me and the people I see at gigs 5 or 6 nights of the week. I had a bath and listened to a Talking Heads album (interestingly I saw Talking Heads at the Roundhouse in 1978, I think it cost about £1 to get in and it was packed with real fans).
