Rubella @ The Old Bell, Derby

The Old Bell is a good venue, by London standards it is magnificent. I would say it is a similar size to the Barfly, but with better lights and sound. The main difference is the that everyone is so freindly and keen to get the best. In London it is all too common to find a bored indifference even from competent soundmen. The crowd is not packed on a Monday night in Derby, but the numbers swell when Rubella take to the stage and the first night of their tour goes well, even though Noush is suffering with a cold. It would be good to play here on a weekend night and I think discussions for a return date have already begun.
