Hold Kiss Kill @ Hoxton Bar & Kitchen
Hold Kiss Kill told the lighting person that they'd like some lights, otherwise they would have presumably have played in the same pitch darkness 'enjoyed' by the other two bands. This made the first band who were OK musically into a very dull show and I lasted for only one song before retiring to the bar. The headline band, Megaphonic Thrift were, if anything more anonymous. Again their music was ok , maybe better than that, but shoegaze is particularly soporiphic if you can't even see your shoes.
At least Hold Kiss Kill insisted on lights. It was light enough to see that they have reverted to a three-piece with K returning to bass. They turn in a solid enjoyable performance.
