Mab @ the Metro
Great effort from the girls even though the drums broke and Jeremy's wasn't in her best shape and had a throat cold .Great to see them after alllllll this time.
MAB @ the Underworld
This gig was waited and waited for...And it happened...A quick meeting up with fans in the World's end pub before hand, a quick chat with Marina and Lisa and amongst the rest of the people were Andy from Statesschool, Bumblebee, acute Mab fan, and Voltane as well as Adudeslife were outside giving out flyers. We even met someone who came down from having been given one of the flyers.Well done, street team!
The gig started a bit too early, which made me miss the intro when Psycho Jeremy entered the stage wearing a huge cream wedding dress and a veil over her face...I saw her taking her skirt off during the first song, to reveal a very sexy and short cream corset... All made by Origane-fashion, of course.
Their gig was so intense, their single had arrived the very morning, and in this air was this excitement which made of that evening a real treat. Their set was way too short, but we had to bear with it, they were supperb, at last playing again in a venue worth of their class.
The fans and crowds were rather noisy, and a mini moshpit even took place, started of course by Voltane and Bumblebee. And the never tired Aspiring_citizen, who gave up videoing after dropping the cameras and recording device (it was her duty for the evening, to record Pure on video :-( ), on the floor several times... Wildblanket is in need for decent staff.
The gig was followed by a social time at the merchandise stall, where the girls were harrassed by fans most of the evening for signing cd sleeves, booklets and arms.
The evening stopped at the Underworld to carry on, lead by Simona and Jason, to the Barfly, where some strange female band sung on prerecorded poppy disco music.Intense time again,(even though the music was painful to listen to) the barfly was full to more than its capacity, and both Sam (Maleficent's Drummer) and Geoff, barmen, were hectically busy and could not spare a moment for a chat. Everyone was rather drunk and both Lisa and voltane and Aspiring_citizen were having shots of something rather, and Simona was falling over. But it was fun. Looking forward to the next Mab gig. Maybe without the car this time.

what a great gig. And a wonderful new single N-A
Mab @ Camden Barfly
This secret barfly gig was well needed... Mab hadn't played for what seemed such a long long time... lots of the fans were there, and they ended the Barfly show after Maleficent, in beauty.
They were looking as gorgeous as always, Jessica didn't have a pretty flower in her hair, which was particularly delightful in her hair the night before.
Alice was wearing the dress from the Mean Fiddler gig, a dress half black and half white, with harlequin checks, supported by a tight black velvet corset. She looked fabulous.
Both Lisa and Marina were wearing their new 2 dresses I made during that week, Marina's was long and flowy, and Lisa's was daringly short, but worn with hot pants underneath... (She forgot to wear the gloves with it !Huh!)
The sudden appearance of Simona, during the song "pure" dressed up in one of my white dresses made for Lisa, and wearing ballerina shoes, was outstanding and so unexpected! She entered the stage on her tip toes, and combined that with some rhythmic dancing, all through the song. She could have done with more stage space, to expand more...Maybe we will see her again on a bigger show. Thanks, Simona!
Their set was nice and long, and they ended it with Last tango in London, which is an absolute marvel. Their other new songs were nice too, but as Voltane snatched all the set lists when the gig was over, I don't remember their names...:-(

MAB are magnificent tonight. After the cramped, intimate surroundings of last night's acoustic set the Barfly feels spacious and loud. MAB look and sound at home, it feels like a special night.
The first resplendent notes of Aria summon the faithful to worship and the uncommited to wonder. The set progresses through several established songs and the new Suicidal Angel to Pure (the new single), where the band are joined by Simona from Maleficent. Dance sweet dancer dance! The show culminates with 2 new songs, the finale being 'Last tango in London' which has already become a firm favourite amongst the faithful.

MAB Unplugged @ The Intrepid Fox
The gig was fantastic, it felt very priviledged to be able to be at the Intrepid Fox, on a private birthday party . Many people could not get in, as it was private, and the downstairs of the Fox was very crammed too...
I didn't know what to expect from Mab playing an accoustic set, I was a bit scared they would sound tiny and thin, but no...How did I dare fearing that for a minute! It was loud and beautiful! Alice's voice was amazing, and Marina and Lisa had picked up some accoustic guitars, which were very strange, but did fit them well!
Jessica was very restrained, and didn't do her usual "battering the drums to death", with that energy and rythm only known to her.
What they called themselves ,"the Cheesy Mab" , was in fact mostly older songs they didn't play anymore, some of them which were really beautiful. As they said, they thought they would not do another accoustic gig again, but I am sure they will, such a thing is needed as a band grows bigger, to keep the fans happy, and they did it beautifully.
The atmosphere was very intimate, a row of fans were sitting at the front, some of them messing up their knees and getting cramps, but they stuck to it through pain and discomfort, as Mab's soothing sound was enough to make them happy. A very special gig.
