Stateschool @ the Comedy

We got to hear about Stateschool by meeting their drummer, who is a friend of a Mab's friend, whom we met at Mab's unplugged gig. He warned us that the music was very different to what we were used to, heavy metal, industrial trash and hard rock...
But  wildblanket is very versatile, we do not stick to one kind of music and are very open minded....
So this, even if different, was going to be a pleasant change ...

We arrived in the Comedy Pub, which was quite a strange place...A large pub with 3 floors, a floor of pool tables, a floor of seats overlooking the pools (Not to throw beer cans at the cheating pool players!) a bar floor and a basement floor for bands where most of the people were. It was quite a  posh place.
We got in the basement as MonkeyRush was playing, and I must say I was impressed by them. Great dresscode, very good stage presence. Good catchy poppy tunes.  Then came on Eusobio, whom were good but a bit more relaxed, and at last, at 10.30, the longged for Stateschool came on!
At that point I had given up the idea of feeling cheerful, but they started playing... And I can't believe it, I woke up and felt alive again!

Their music is full of enthousiasm, poppy but rocky, with 2 lead singers(one of them playing bass) , a guitarist and Andy, the drummer, who we'd met... The gig was fantastic.. It was frenetic, dancy, fun and good to watch! The drummer also added a lot to the atmosphere with his souple drumming, smart and agile.
Stateschool did surprise us...I recommend everybody who is not into heavy metal to come and see Stateschool...I surely will be back to see them...
O-F
